Nepali Village Woman

£130.00

Once I had a chance to travel with my father to the quite remote villages in Jajarkot, when there were not any roads developments. Once, you got to reach to NepalGunj, you would have to options for the sake of travel towards Jajarkot,. You either take planes which used to be flown twice a week, if the weather was fine, or you would be walking full four days to reach the khalanga. My father was a government officer who had then resided and I had some months after SLC exam, so I followed him. We were luck to get the plane from Nepalgunj to Rukum’s Chaurjahari airport. From Chaurjahari to Khalanga, Jajarkot, we had to walk and that was taken about 4 to 5 hours.

Everytime, I think about national flower of Nepal, Laliguras, my memory took me back to Jajarkot where me along with new friends used to go to the jungle and play with flowers. As I said earlier, when I got a chance to go on trekking with my father and a helper towards the high and remote part of Jajarkot, I got to see the natural beautiful girls, whose cheeks looked like an apple and they usually wear some bunch of laliguras flower on their hair. That memory ignited my creation to paint one woman exactly like one of them.
